Every child is unique. They develop at their own pace and in their own way. That is why at Holistic Potential I take a personalised whole child approach to their learning, development and emotional wellbeing.
My mission is to help children manage feelings of anger, anxiety and overwhelm, increase self-esteem, develop a strong sense of self, resilience and independence. In addition I support families with their children’s education by means of assessments, screening tests for SEND, exam preparation classes and homeschooling support. I provide webinars, consultations and talking groups to allow parents to meet, share their experiences and not feel so alone.
Throughout my career I have seen a huge number of children and families forever waiting and being stuck between school based support and specialist services like CAMHS. My aim is to bridge the gap whether that means being the first step in your child’s healing journey or the support that prevents things from escalating. I am here to support you and your children with care, trust and creativity.
Mental health, wellbeing and happiness of all children is paramount.
About Me
Hi, I'm Gaby and I run Holistic Potential!
BSc Hons Psychology, London Metropolitan University, PGCE in Primary Education, Roehampton University, Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in the Therapeutic Arts, Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), Level 2 Introduction to Child Counselling Skills, Place To Be.
With a degree in Psychology, a PGCE in Primary Education, and 20 years experience as a Teacher, TA, and LSA, I have an extensive experience supporting children with SEND—particularly those with Autism, Dyslexia, and Dyspraxia. I am currently training as a Child Counsellor at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE), on a pathway accredited by both the BACP and UKCP. I am currently a student member of the BACP.
Driven by my own lived experiences with childhood adversity and a later-in-life Dyspraxia diagnosis, I possess deep empathy for children facing emotional and learning challenges. I understand the unique hurdles vulnerable children face. and look beyond labels such as ‘lazy’ or ‘disruptive’. I recognise those children who struggle, are quiet, withdrawn and mask their difficulties and are often misunderstood by the school system. I therefore take a positive approach and listen with empathy, acceptance and compassion to allow children to feel seen, heard and supported. I create space to allow children and young people to feel to safe to just be themselves.
Throughout my career I have supported a diverse population of children from the early years, KS1, KS2 and KS3 with a strong focus on neurodiversity. I have collaborated closely with teachers, Educational Psychologists, and Speech and Language Therapists, I have also designed, delivered, and assessed tailored learning activities. Beyond the classroom, I have led a vibrant range of extracurricular activities, including, felt making, storytelling and teaching French using the structured La Jolie Ronde methodology. Deeply committed to holistic care, I regularly advise and support families from diverse cultural backgrounds, helping them navigate their children's educational and emotional wellbeing journeys.
